Stone Cold Heart

Cold,
Jagged,
Harsh,
Me.

Worn down like the smokers lung,
Being chiped away from life.
Distorted like a crater
Rejected from space
and smashed down into earth’s terrain
leaving an empty hole
that once was filled.

How can you turn a warm, soft, alive human into a stone cold rock?
You deserve one thrown at you,
But not me,
You don’t deserve my rock thrown at you.
Keep your distance
Although I may move slow
I fall fast.

I’m unforgiving
Scarred
Weathered
Alone
Alone is where I’ll sit
Zoned out and blended with the dirt that you kick away with your shoes,
Rejected.

  1. Kelsey! I love this poem! The way you set it up was unique, and I loved the language you used. My favorite line was 'I may move slow but I fall fast' and I also liked the description of being alone at the end of the piece. It was great! :)

  2. Depressing but great! The ending is what really seals up the piece. Awesome poem!
